Game of Thrones Fashion Hits the High Street
With the new series of Game of Thrones hitting our screens, we know that most homes/offices/timelines are buzzing with what the series may have in store for us. Here at vouchercloud HQ we’re pretty obsessed with GoT – the nail biting plot, the depth of the fantastically fierce and smart female characters and of course the AMAZE styling.
We started the discussions of series 6 early and collated the most hyped fan theories for the upcoming season (WARNING: may contain potential spoilers…) but ultimately, we think it’s about time that the fantastic Game of Thrones costumes get some airtime. So with this in mind we’ve created a run down of the major dress trends that are seen on the ladies of kingdoms. After looking through all of these we started questioning – is it possible that GoT is now so ingrained in popular culture that fashion trends of the show have wormed their way into our wardrobes?
Fashion in Game of Thrones ranges from the luxurious regal attire of Kings Landing to the sensual and less reserved Dornish threads, that at first glance you wouldn’t think would translate to us mere millennials, but take a look over the below – we think this makes a pretty good case for it!
Game of Thrones Dresses: The Plunging Necklines
This sexy trend has been steadfast from series 1 and although we are used to seeing a lot of flesh on screen, #freeingthenipple around the realms of Westeros – similarly in your local – isn’t always appropriate and/or practical.
For those that want to leave a little something to the imagination we have the plunging neckline which offers more flesh than your average Saturday night out cocktail dress but is now an acceptable choice for a night on the tiles or indeed lording it over your subjects in Mooreen. These dresses in Game of Thrones have been offering us a provocative view of the leading ladies and have filtered down to the high street.
So if your pair are gravity defiant you too can head out with your chest bone out.

Game of Thrones Dresses: The Bell Sleeves
This trend is also featured across most of the series, often giving a pretty regal vibe. Cersi totally rocks this look around the royal court and now you can too in the street, on holiday or just popping to the shop for some milk.
The high street’s take on bell sleeves are less ‘Kings Landing Small Council meeting’ and more ‘Fashion bloggers fave’ after being seen all over the Catwalks of Céline, J.W. Anderson and Osman. What’s more, the understated high-street version of the bell sleeve means we retain optimum arm movement and also won’t be accidentally whipping over our drinks at the bar!

Game of Thrones Dresses: The Cut Outs
When it comes to a cut out – Daenerys’ dresses are the go to in seeing how this should be done. From cut outs that flaunt your waist to circular cut outs above the chest you too can wear this trend easily with the beautiful selection of Game of Thrones style dresses which the high street has to offer.
Queen it up in one of the numbers below (we chose to forego a belly button framing number).

Game of Thrones Dresses: The Capes
The sleek cape with a structured shoulder totally says ‘I’m a #bossb*tch’ (which would totally be the below ladies hashtags were they to update their social media). Take note of Ellaria Sand’s ‘don’t mess with me’ embellished power shoulders and also Daenerys’ white cape dress from season 5, which is just so Tom Ford it hurts.
Luckily for us, these gorgeous cape dresses are now easily accessible for non-Westeros dwellers courtesy of our favourite fashion brands. Also, if you are heading to a festival this summer, we have thrown in a Night’s Watch-esque piece for good measure.
