There were a variety of options to choose ‘while you wait’. I opted for the Homemade Onion Rings – a tower of 6 in a light, seasoned breadcrumb – a great choice, if I do say so myself.

Fairly quickly, the main course arrived. I chose a 100% West Country Beef Burger with fresh mozzarella and a chilli jam, served on a toasted sesame bun – and yes, it was as good as it sounds. The burgers are really fresh and it’s obvious they’re made on the premises daily. Apart from the burger it really is worth me talking about the side dish of Skinny fries. Usually I’m a chunky chips kind of girl all the way, but I’d seen a few other diners munching on them and decided to try them – boy am I glad I did. They’re amazing – they even warrant an O.M.G. I can’t really describe why, but if you haven’t tried them already, do so – you need these in your life.gbk menu

My partner Adam ordered the Avocado Bacon Chicken Panko Burger which looked equally as amazing as mine. At the rate it was consumed, I’d say he enjoyed it.

One more thing on the food – the garlic mayonnaise is an absolute MUST (if you like garlic, which I do). Perhaps not the best option if you’re on a first date but undoubtedly the best garlic mayo I’ve tasted – very freshly made and perfect for dunking fries – foodie bliss.

One thing’s for sure with this place; you certainly get what you pay for and won’t go hungry, the portions are huge.

What Lucy Ate:

To Start: Homemade Onion Rings

The main event: Habanero Beef Burger – Fiery tomato & habanero jam, mozzarella, salad & mayo

Sides: Skinny fries and GBK Homeslaw

The Service:

Although it was a busy Friday evening at the restaurant, the service was fab. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and when I asked for advice on menu choice they were more than happy to oblige. The place was busy with customers the whole time we were there but service ran smoothly and efficiently meaning no-one was left waiting for a table.

The Restaurant & Ambience:

The decor matches the food at GBK – a really fresh feel to it. The ambience gives a relaxed feeling; although the service is fast, at no point do you feel rushed during your meal leaving you to take as much or as little time as you want (or need) over your food.

I’d really recommend a visit to Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I’d also recommend trying one of their milkshakes (if you have room – the Oreo one is particularly good).
