Workout Outfits for Women

If like me, you sometimes lack the motivation to get to the gym or even go outside in the often cold, windy and rainy British  weather; firstly, I don’t blame you and secondly; there is another way to get motivated – by updating your gym wardrobe! If your comfortable in your gym clothes you’re much more likely to grit your teeth and get training, and there’s no doubt that I’ve been much more motivated to train regularly since treating myself to some new workout clothes. It may have had something to do with the new breathable leggings, or wearing my brand new, supportive (and less holey) running trainers. Either way, there’s no doubt that new workout outfits can inspire you to crawl out of bed a little earlier to squeeze in that morning run, or encourage you to try out that yoga class your friend has been going on about for the past month. Take a look at my pick of the best brands for women’s activewear including Nike, Sweaty Betty and Sports Direct, and find new clothes to hit the gym in on a budget!

Nike Women

You can’t escape the Nike tick when on the hunt for high performance women’s sportswear, and for workout outfits that don’t cut corners on style or leading textile innovation – shopping at Nike won’t disappoint. Nike is your best friend in training for running challenges; from 10k runs to marathons their running trainers and training tights (leggings) will make sure you stay comfortable from the first mile right up to the last, not to mention the Nike+ Running mobile app will help you keep track of your progress.

It’s not cheap but there’s no doubt that these stylish fitness buys are worth the money. For example, the leggings have dri-fit technology and unique seams that are comfortable and flattering – helping you keep cool and comfortable during your run. Plus, the huge choice of trainers are designed to offer comfort and support for feet of all shapes and sizes. They are flexible, fun-coloured, and always extremely light to run in. Try Nike Flyknit trainers for ultra-light and supportive running trainers you’ll fall in love with at the first step. For generous cushioning, look no further than the Nike Airmax.

I’d say those are the two things worth investing, alongside a sturdy sports bra if you don’t have one already! Nike have a variety of sports bra styles, it’s simply a matter of choosing which best suits your body type.

So I might have been a little on the biased side here, but if you’re not so much of a runner, and are looking for general fitness wear, or perhaps you’re really into yoga; you’ll want to take a look are the Nike range of activewear.

Sweaty Betty Sportswear

sweaty betty sportswearSo whilst I would love to run on the beach in the sunshine – the reality is much colder, wetter and British.  Although the image looks appealing, the shop has a variety of sportswear to prepare us for reality – (hoodies, jumpers, long leggings and yes, waterproofs too) – the women’s fitness brand Sweaty Betty.
