Charles Wicksteed, the founder of Wicksteed Park, wanted children and adults to have fun when they visited a park. Unlike his Edwardian contemporaries, he tore up the rule book and made children’s play areas the main feature of his park. Today, nothing has changed and Wicksteed Park has everything you could possibly wish for on a fun day out, especially if you use your Wicksteed Park vouchers to enjoy cheaper rides!
The thrill rides will keep kids and adrenaline junkies happy for a few hours, but if you would rather take it easy, explore the gorgeous park. There is 147 acres, which is more than enough for energetic kids and dogs. Check out the arboretum. It’s full of exotic trees and when the leaves begin to change colour in the autumn, it’s a magical place to walk through. The formal gardens are also spectacular, especially in spring and summer. The Australian-themed aviary contains more than 60 species of exotic birds, including diamond doves and kakarikis.
Wicksteed Park is a popular events venue. You can get married at Wicksteed Park, with beautiful landscaped gardens and the Grand Pavilion, the photos will be awesome. It’s also the largest wedding venue in Northamptonshire. Wicksteed Park can cater for up to 900 guests, so it is ideal for large Asian weddings. You can also celebrate birthdays, engagements, and even wakes at Wicksteed Park. There are also plenty of rooms to hire for corporate events and the thrill rides are perfect for team-building exercises.
