Edinburgh Zoo first opened its doors to the public in 1913. Its mission was - and still is - to connect the public with animals and safeguard vulnerable species from extinction. Edinburgh Zoo has a world-class educational programme in place, so it would be remiss of us not to suggest that you make time to listen to some of the education talks scheduled on a daily basis. Talks take place every fifteen minutes or so, at various exhibits within the zoo. Since you won’t be able to listen to all of them, decide in advance which talks are of most interest to you and plan your visit accordingly.
