Did you know?
Madame Tussaud was a real person, who lived in Paris in the late 18th century. She had an amazing gift for creating lifelike waxworks, which at that time were displayed as a way for the ordinary people to see what famous people looked like without meeting them – much like today. She also had the unfavourable job of making 'death masks' of the aristocratic Parisians who went under the guillotine during the French revolution.
