Aviva has been around for centuries, tracing its roots back to the Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society of London in 1696. Having started life after the Great Fire of London to give citizens protection against losing their possessions, it grew to become one of the nation’s biggest insurance providers before being acquired by the Commercial Union Group in 1905. Several mergers and name changes later, and the company came to be known as Aviva in 2002.
Aviva is now the UK’s largest insurer with 13 million people on its books: enough to fill 12 Birminghams! It is dedicated to keeping these customers content so they can get on with the things they enjoy. Aviva Home Insurance can protect customers against fire, theft, flooding and more. It can also provide ‘new for old’ cover for your items, which could see them substituted with new replacements. Whatever your circumstances, Aviva will have a policy for you: even landlords and tenants can get protection.
