The chill factor

With over 60 years of heritage behind Damart, it’s no wonder it's still churning out amazingly comfy clothing, shoes and even homeware to this day by mail order. Set up by a band of three entrepreneurial brothers in France, Damart started life because they spotted the potential in making synthetic thermal underwear for the masses. After successful testing prototypes on a group of rheumatic hospital patients, Damart's synthetic fibre based thermals were launched nationally in 1950. A few years later, its Thermawear was also tested 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle during an expedition in temperatures as chilly as minus 40 degrees.

Thermals fit for royalty

In 1967, Damart set up its headquarters in West Yorkshire. The late Princess Diana famously visited Damart's Bingley head office in 1991. She openly advocated the brand, adding a royal seal of approval to Damart's fashionable thermal underwear. Nowadays, Damart is still keeping up with trends and you’ll be able to order everything online.
